A Look Back at 2025: Industries, Events & Milestones
2025 was a year defined by meaningful collaboration across the welding ecosystem — from industrial production halls to advanced research laboratories.
Cavitar Welding Cameras together with #ArcLessVision and CAVILUX laser illumination reached new levels of adoption in 2025. Our cameras were integrated into some of the most advanced, innovative welding machines, robotic welding systems, and research setups showcased at events such as Joining & Cutting (Sweden), Schweissen & Schneiden (Germany), Alihankinta Subcontractors Fair (Finland), and Fabtech Expo (USA).
Our technologies enabled clearer weld visualization for industry, educators, and researchers, supporting better understanding of melt pool behavior, arc dynamics, and robotic welding processes across a wide range of applications.
CAVILUX light sources, in combination with high-speed imaging, enabled researchers and industrial users around the world to explore complex welding and thermal phenomena with clarity not achievable using traditional illumination tools. Additionally, for the first time ever, we integrated Augmented Reality glasses into welding by showcasing a glimpse of the possibilities in the near future.
Cavitar’s technology supported a wide variety of industries, including:
• Robotic welding
• Welding automation & mechanisation
• Education & vocational training
• Universities and research groups
• R&D divisions in manufacturing, materials science & shipbuilding
Our imaging and laser illumination solutions were used in studies of melt pool behaviour, welding arc dynamics, thermal processes, bead geometry, and high-speed phenomena that cannot be understood with traditional tools.
This year also brought multiple technical collaborations and European R&D initiatives, including:
• AITOOLS1 – AI Toolbox for Lot-Size-One Robot Welding, where Cavitar contributed essential visualization capabilities for teaching, demonstration, and robot quality monitoring.
• ROBOTBox – student-built robotic welding platform, supporting education through real live imaging tools and ArcLess Academy materials.
Alongside these , we continued improving Cavitar ArcLess Academy educational offering, building deeper relationships with researchers and instructors, and expanding our digital resources to better serve the scientific and industrial welding communities.
